But I was having so many problems with my tension that I was willing to try anything. So I did the unthinkable. I adjusted my bobbin tension.





But I took a picture first so I could go back to the same position if it didn't work. It didn't work.

And there are so many things I want to be working on right now....

Room finished!













The man is coming back from a trip in about an hour. And I finished about an hour ago. The mice will play while the cat is away. Most of the women in my life do the same thing. We wait until they go out of town and then we work on a big project. So much easier.

And this is still kind of a temporary solution. Most likely a long term temporary solution. But not the original plan we had. That will come later.

Busy morning

We had to go here today-






For a test for the bug. And we had some time between the injection and the scan so we went here-

She was such a trooper. I am so proud of my bug.






(Looks worse than it was. She was watching a movie.)

Her band-aid had Tasmanian Devil on it, which she has never seen. She wanted to know why she had angry lions. So cute.


(She had a DMSA scan to see if there is scarring in her kidneys from the reflux. EIDT: Test came back with no scarring! Yea!)

I could have sworn I calculated my binding correctly...Dang it. But then when I went back to my cutting table, there was the missing strip. I felt a little better. But only a little.

Annual Fair Tradition

It seems that some rituals may be more widespread than you think. No matter how odd it is. One of mine, in the euphoric time period that the fair is in town, is to go and get a new toe ring. And it turns out that is Barbara's tradition as well. And she was being so coy about her relationship with the fair, not really sharing a lot, seemingly going along for the ride, definitely not revealing her joy at our shared passion. Hmm.

So while on our fun evening out with our book club pals, we did just that. (Excuse the toes. Neither of us were expecting a photo shoot.)




I love that they call it installing. And you know the secret to correct toe ring sizing, right? Windex.

Happy Sushi Birthday

We went to sushi tonight and mentioned it was Bug's birthday yesterday. And this is what they surprised her with.






Quite the fruit extravaganza. Yummy and beautiful!

I love that we go there quite often and they have basically seen her grow up.

Fair Food Adventures

(I told you I had a few fair stories.)

So I really do get excited about the fair. And often times it is contagious. Although I think maybe initially the women of my book club were humoring me. Now I think it may be genuine, at least for some of them. The others are still humoring me. And I truly appreciate it.

So one of the joys, aside from the Halls of Crap, is the food. So many different and often unusual foods. Each year there is kind of an unveiling of the new weird food at the fair. They even do a local news report on it. (See, it's not just me.) So of course we had to try as much as we could. And it is nice splitting between 5 or 6 people, not only on the arteries, but on the wallet as well. Dang it is expensive. So here is a glimpse of our food tour last year.



This is a spiral cut potato that is spread apart on a skewer and then fried like potato chips, still connected. And of course ranch dressing to go with it. These were actually really good.



This, get ready for it, is deep fried butter. Yep. It is basically a fried churro with a huge glop of butter in the middle.



One of my favorites, chocolate covered bacon. It is surprisingly good, but you need to eat it very cold.

The Heart Attack Cafe. Oh yes they did. They called it the Coronary Combo - catchy!



It was actually pretty funny and I' sorry I didn't get the photo, but there was an ambulance stationed right across from this stand. Coincidence, but still pretty funny.

And this was some kind of Indian Fry bread pizza type things.





We had all sorts of dessert as well but this was my favorite. Cupcakes were quite the rage last year and this is a frosting shot. Literally just a container of frosting and sprinkles.





I can't wait to see what we can find this year. I didn't even get pictures of the deep fried Twinkie, the turkey leg, the Krispy Kreme Chicken sandwich, the fried avocado, the fresh made piping hot mini donuts, and oh so much more.

(Okay, full disclosure, we didn't have a turkey leg.)
